Daddy Has It!

Father's Day may only come around once a year but we hope that Lexi and Nicolas' Daddy knows just how amazing he is! He does so much with them all year and loves them more then anything! He will get up early, go to bed late, play anything and everything they want. And they adore him for it!

This year to let him know how much they love him, Nicolas and Lexi made some artwork for his office. I taped off the center square so they would realize that there would be a part of the canvas that would not be viewable later. Then we added a frame to the inside of the canvas after their masterpieces had dried. I was really pleased with how cute they turned out.

Nicolas wanted to draw the family on his canvas. The taped off portion worked well for this as he knew to make his family members around it. Honestly, when he told me he was going to draw a picture I wasn't sure how it would turn out with the frame in the center but I was wrong. I thought it was so cute and so did Daddy!

Lexi, on the other hand, wanted to just add all her favorite colors. All of them... over and over. She was like the Energizer Bunny that didn't want to stop painting. But finally we convinced her it was gorgeous just as it was. Daddy agreed!

Then we painted wood frames for Grandpa and Papaw. Each child painted one and then switched so that the other could add scrapbook types of stickers that we picked special for things that made them think of their grandparent. We added a photo inside of them with their grandpa's and they turned out really cute too! Good craft year for Father's Day gifts.
