We were egg-cited when we saw that Sunset was doing Easter Egg decorating for the kids. yeah! We are so busy on Easter Saturday that it was pleasing to me to think I could go somewhere else and the kids could decorate the eggs!
Nicolas was ready to dunk and sticker up as many as he could.Lexi was not so excited. She did some at school and was disheartened when her mean ol' mom cracked them and used them at dinner a night later. That was her "art" for goodness sake! I explained to her that if we didn't eat them then they would spoil anyway and I would have to throw them away. She did like eating them but did not want to decorate any again. She does not believe in destroying her hard work later! But she was very good standing over by the window and watching the golfers instead.
Daddy encouraged Nicolas along the way. I have to say though, Sunset does need a child recreation person who "gets" this stuff. They bought off brand of egg dye and I am guessing did not use vinegar for glasses. The water was so translucent and the eggs took quite some time to turn even a light tint. The kids had fun but I do think next year we will work out our Easter weekend plans to do the decorating here. Hopefully Lexi has come to terms with the eventual destruction of her art by then!
