The Friday after Nicolas' surgery (5th of June) was a nice break for mommy! Grandma Birdie came over so I could go to a baby shower for Shawn's step-sister-in-law. We missed her baby shower because it was on the same day as Aaron and Mary's wedding. Sorry, Joan, but that trumped things I guess. But I sure didn't want to miss a chance to revel in Joan's glowing mommy-hood! So when Shawn's step-mom Mary suggested we all meet up for lunch to make up for it then I was loving that idea. And got really excited when Melissa suggested Jilly's Cupcake Bar.
What a yummy way to spend the day. It was a scrumptious lunch with Melissa, Mary, Joan and Christin. And then a very tempting drive home as I carried four cupcakes to share with the family. I picked them out with each member in mind.

(chocolate one) S'Murtle - chocolate devils food cake stuffed with marshmallow buttercream and chocolate ganache topping.

These were huge! And we shared each and every one. But they have so many more to choose from. Anyone else game for a car trip?
