It's Friday Morning

It's a Friday! Trying to get the kids to eat their cereal while watching TV. Yep, one of my proud mom moments but I NEED a shower. I was getting myself ready for my 3 minute wash-down when I heard Nicolas yell... Lexi scream and even heard me roll my own eyes. Run down to find her on her butt (although not a serious cry but more of a whimper) and Nicolas back in his spot on the floor like nothing happened. Duh! He pushed her down. Asked him what happened and was told she was standing in his way and he couldn't see his show. We decided to figure out a better way to communicate. I turned everything off and told him that he was going to figure out another way he could have handled it. After some poking, prodding and maybe a bit of dead air we finally came up with the answer that he was to ask nicely (amazing) for her to move and then maybe even suggest where she could see better. Here is the funny part....

I told Nicolas to practice right now with Lexi. He had Lexi's full attention but in usual Nicolas style he got embarrassed and shy and didn't want to play. He wanted me to do it for him. I waited... and waited... and then Lexi knelt down where he could see her face by the ottoman and sweetly said:

"What Nicolas? I'm listening.... talk to me."

It was so sincere and sweet I about burst. He finally did practice and all was well. We are back to our Friday morning.... until next time. Let's hope he remembers that yesterday he was begging me to wake her from her nap because he missed her and wanted to play!!!
