Want to send a huge gracias out tonight for one of the best nights in a restaurant we have ever had! Food was good although you can't pass up Morales tacos anywhere else so that in itself was a treat for tonight. We went to the new Mexican restaurant in Edwardsville, Las Tres Amigos (who serve our beloved tacos from Alton) with the kids and with Jim. The kids love eating chips and dip out with Grandpa Jim as often as they can and we also owed him a HUGE thank you for figuring out our leaking house fiasco (more on that in a moment). We got there ... 5:30ish and we didn't leave until 7:45!!! What two and four year old can sit for that long in a restaurant without one fuss, one whine, and a boat load of toys??? OURS! As long as they have chips, bean/cheese dip and a big screen TV with Mexican soccer on it they were perfect! Who needs TV in English? Ours don't apparently. Lexi even chose to sit on Grandpa's lap on the other side of the table from mommy because Grandpa and Nicolas had a better view of the soccer game! Seriously!
We give huge hugs to the staff at this new establishment. They were so nice it wasn't even funny! They came and talked to the kids in Spanish (rumor has it that it always makes Nicolas laugh). Gave them attention periodically through the night. They looked at our school pictures we got today (cute as can be in my humble opinion especially for a school photo). And they didn't huff and puff when we sat there for so long taking up one of their biggest tables! We are now loyal fans! Not to mention the $4.50 margaritas on Thursday night!!! Wanta go? Just call us and we are there.
Oh... and the leak? Who knew that when Shawn and I put up our cabinets over the washer/dryer 4-5 years ago that the stud finder would identify a drain pipe from the upstairs bathroom as a stud! Yep! Drilled and secured our cabinet right into the pipe and apparently it has had a slow leak ever since. Did feel a tad better when we realized that the builder had also drilled into the pipe because there was the one extra hole that wasn't from our drilling and lined RIGHT up with where they had put the shelf in there before we installed the cabinet. So actually, it was probably the removal of that screw to put up the cabinet that had the most leak. The screws from our cabinets did help to hold that water back for us at least. Well, thankfully Grandpa Jim decided to cut into that drywall to look for connectors before we tore out our entire upstairs bathroom (as the leak was coming down the outside of the pipe in the basement and we we couldn't tell where a problem was in the walls above). Now with some sealer that we hope beyond hope will hold back the tides, we will cut out the old drywall and replace it with new. Thank you Grandpa for once again coming to our rescue! We adore you!!!
Anyone want us to install cabinets in your home? We work for free!

Man, you write as much as you talk. Cut to the chase. I don't have time to read a book.
